9 Symptoms of Disorganization

  1. You haven’t read a book in months or even years.
  2. You find yourself begrudging those who have time for things like regular exercise or relaxation.
  3. A common reaction or statement you make is, “I would [fill in the blanks] if I only had the time.”
  4. Your desk, kitchen table, counters, side tables, and pretty much every other surface are cluttered with stuff you’ll get to and organized “when you have the time.”
  5. You begin to think of friendships or acquaintances in guilty terms, as in, “I need to call so-and-so. I haven’t invited that person over. I was supposed to meet this person for coffee last week, but I was just too busy.”
  6. Even when you finish a project, you’re not completely satisfied with it because you know you could have done better if you had done it in an organized and orderly fashion.
  7. You have a hard time enjoying the simple things…
